Bodh Gaya, Monlam Chenmo His Holiness Penor Rinpoche's statement on the occasion of the 2006 Monlam Chenmo is reproduced here from the Nyingma Monlam site (currently being updated) as it applies for this year's Prayer Festival as well: Kyabje Tarthang Tulku Rinpoche's virtuous intention for the benefit of all sentient beings and the preservation of the general teachings of Lord Buddha as well as the distinct Nyingma tradition resulted in the establishment of the Ngagyur Nyingma Monlam Chenmo, the Great Prayer Ceremony, at the holiest place on earth, Bodh Gaya. Gradually, the Monlam Chenmo has progressed in all aspects and in the future we hope that this prayer festival will continue for as long as the teachings of Lord Buddha remain in this world. So, when the Sangha members assemble during this religious gathering I do hope that all those assembled, both lay and ordained practitioners, will sincerely pray for the preservation and propagation of the Buddhist teachings in general and the teachings of the Nyingma tradition in particular; for the effortless fulfillment of all the hopes and dreams of all people living in this world and especially for the people of India and Tibet, the land of snows; for the pacification of all the inner and outer obstacles of His Holiness the XIVth Dalai Lama as well as other exalted masters, the assembly of Sangha members, and all the people of the world; for the fulfillment of all their noble wishes; and finally for the attainment of peace and freedom for all the people of the world.
