For the first week of the last month in the Tibetan Calendar (11/30 - 12/11 - Western: 1/22 - 2/1), His Holiness Penor Rinpoche will attend the annual prayer festival in Bodhgaya. The prayer festival celebrates Shakyamuni Buddha's "Overcoming of the Six Teachers" in which the Buddha displayed accomplishments so supreme that rival teachers were eclipsed. Monlam Chenmo was held in Tibet yearly dating from about 1409 (Western reckoning).
Visit to Northeast India:In December His Holiness Penor Rinpoche visited Mon and Pema Köd, northeastern India to lay the foundation stone and consecrate the site for a new temple. A full report will be posted here in the next week (1/13).
